3/7/2010 Bruce Fire and Rescue training exercise
in open water on Oakwood
On a Sunday afternoon March 7, 2010 the Bruce Fire and Rescue Department held a training at 42
Oakwood Shoreline Drive in front of the residence of Larry and Janie Wittmeier where there is an area of
open water located on West Oakwood with one of the 110 volt aerators owned and operated by the
Oakwood Lakes Develoopment Association. The Bruce Fire and Rescue held a training in the opoen water,
as they have acquired suits to use in rescue situations. This was a training for them in preparing for the real
thing in the event they receive an emergency call. We here at Oakwood Lakes certainly hope they never have
to respond to a call here on Oakwood Lakes for them to put their skills in to use. Attending the training was
Chief Richard Stokes, Asst. Fire Chief Tim Lemke, Keith Stahl, Brad Farber, Larae Stokes, Mike Rietz,
Kyle Hoeke, and Harland Feldhaus.
