June 2010 - Dave Raw and his crew from Lake Poinsett removing Carp from
Lake Hendricks in early June. 100,000 lbs of unwanted fish were removed in 2 days.
Additional rough fish will be removed this coming winter.Comments by Joe Beech June 2010
Fish Barrier constructed in the outlet on Lake Hendricks. It allows us to manage the
movement of both game fish and unwanted fish. The gate was designed by Joe Beech and build
with the help of Chuck Nygarrd from Lake Hendricks. Comments by Joe Beech June 2010
Deer Creek this is the main inlet into Lake Hendricks. This land (225) acres) was
recently purchased by the SD Game Fish & Parks. This property will be engineered by
Ducks Unlimited converting it from a pasture to a wetland that will slow the water coming
into Lake Hendricks. This will create a badly needed filter that will go a long way to
cleaning the water coming into the lake. Comments by Joe Beech June 2010
Behind retention dam on Deer Creek. You can see how poor the water quality
is. The dam is only one mile from the lake. The filter being created is essential in trapping run
off like this from getting into Lake Hendricks. Comments by Joe Beech June 2010.
