Featured
speaker will be Terry Gompert. Gompert
is a certified holistic resource management specialist and a member of the
Nebraska Extension Service. The workshop is entitled “Grazing to Enhance
Synergy between Land and Cattle”. This workshop will be examining grazing from
a holistic standpoint as well as encouraging participants to develop a forage
plan. Gompert specializes in using cropland acres to balance the needs of
livestock grazing systems.
Also,
Rick Bednarek, Soil Quality Specialist with NRCS, will present results from
using various cover crops to increase organic matter, utilize excess moisture,
capture nitrogen, and provide forage for livestock.
